Plymouth, Ind. June 11 Joseph Musselman 68 Fulton county farmer found guilty of first degree murder by a Marshall county circuit court jury after a five hour deliberation. The jury recommended life imprisonment. Musselman was convicted of stabbing his son in law Edgar Burton following a quarrel over hogs' division. Burton died March 11 1936 in Logansport hospital.
Hollywood June 11 motion picture star Dick Powell suffered an attack of intestinal influenza today at his home. His doctor said the condition was not serious but Powell was ordered to suspend work on Varsity Show at Warner Brothers studio during the illness.
Indiana officials discuss settlement efforts for a steel workers strike that has left 14,007 Indiana workers unemployed, centering on the Calumet area. Attendees from Youngstown Sheet and Tube and Sloan Steel did not comment on proceedings. The governor convened the meeting with state labor leaders to pave the way for a resolution.

In a crash north of Lebanon two brothers Kenneth Paul red Gunion and Frank Gunion died from injuries. Frank, native of Clinton County, later succumbed at Witham hospital after funerals were planned at Frankfort. The brothers were employed on Works Progress Administration projects and had been involved in a prior robbery case with guilty pleas.
