Thomas Temple becomes Residential Director with duties at Lebanon campus Indianapolis program and statewide foster home program. Roberta Wysong becomes Supervisor of Social Work. William Phillips named Campus Life Supervisor. James Powell joins June 15 as staff member. Edward Gatke to direct Carey Home in Tippecanoe County. Sharon Mason and Richard Kallock to serve as Recreation Leaders. Home expands with main campus in Lebanon one group home there two in Indianapolis and twenty foster homes statewide.

Youth Held In Illinois For City Thefts

A 15 year old Lebanon youth was taken into custody in White County Illinois for weekend thefts including a Sun Tan Tavern break in and a Thomerson DX Service Station burglary in Lebanon. Police say whisky found in a car tied to the thefts. sheriff to return youth to local juvenile authorities.

Timmons 32d Republican to Pay Party Fee

Newell Timmons, White County Republican chairman for 14 years, entered the race for state auditor becoming the 32nd paid candidate at the Indiana Republican state convention. He is a farmer and businessman and says he is not a slated candidate as factional pressures mount around gubernatorial hopeful Edgar D. Whitcomb.

Campers Leave For Covenant Camp In Michigan

About twenty campers and staff depart by bus at 8 a m for Covenant Camp near Prescott Michigan. The trip is a joint effort of SPEC Boosters Club and Walnut Street Baptist Church Lebanon with named campers and adults listed. Return planned for next Saturday evening. Also Indiana Friday five day outlook predicts temps 8 to 12 degrees above normal with warm to hot conditions and a half to one inch rainfall with scattered thunderstorms.

Boone County TB tests to expand to nursing homes

Boone County TB Association will extend tuberculin skin testing to nursing home residents as part of a stepped up TB case fund program. FreМont Voris was reelected president at the annual Board meeting at Alen Country Club, with officers R Delue Akerman, C G Kern, and Herbert Fletcher Jr. also reappointed. The group continues existing school testing for students and cafeteria workers and plans a fall 1968 program in county schools with 2,869 students tested and 37 reactors while no active TB was found.

Supreme Court upholds New York school textbook law

The Supreme Court affirmed a 1965 New York rule requiring public school textbooks to be supplied to parochial pupils. Justice Byron R. White wrote the majority. Justices Black Douglas and Fortas filed separate dissents. The case arose from East Greenbush near Albany and school officials in Rensselaer, Columbia and Nassau Counties.

Milo King 66 longtime Clinton County farmer dies in Frankfort

Milo King a 66 year old Boone County native and longtime Clinton County farmer died this morning at a Frankfort hospital. He was born in Boone County and spent his life in farming. Surviving relatives and funeral details appear on page 4 of the obituary section.

Driver Held In Crash Of State Police

Harold G. Riley, 55, a Dohrn Transfer driver, was arrested in Moline, Illinois, on charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide for a September 27, 1967 crash on I-74 in Boone County that killed three people including Donald Myers, Trooper Richard Brown, and Joseph Paschal. Riley faced extradition to Illinois after posting a $5,000 fugitive bond and was to appear in court to determine waiver of extradition. The wreck followed an earlier rain strangled crash investigated by Brown.
