Reckless Driving Charges Filed Here
Reckless driving charges were filed today in JP court by County Sheriff Jim Me against Lewis Thomas of Indianapolis, driver of a truck involved in a June 3 collision on State Road north. Mrs. Bonetha Cragan and her daughter Deborah were seriously injured. Cragan was moved to I U Medical Center, and Debbie Cragan remains in Riley Hospital ICU after surgery for head injuries.

Lebanon Seashore Swimming Pool saw near four thousand visitors over the weekend as 1738 attended Sunday, 1204 on Saturday, and 1009 on Friday. Pool manager John Aaron noted last year’s June heat did not reach Sunday’s peak, with Utilities office manager Robert Cassell confirming the single day record was 1546 previously.

A wild rabbit scratched three children on West Noble Street Sunday morning. Betty Gene Thomas 11 Frankie Thomas 8 and Donna Ehrie 9 were treated after the incident. Wounds Self Cleaning Gun Incident in Thorntown
Harold Maynard, 25, of Phillips, Kentucky, visiting parents in Thorntown, suffered a deep calf wound when a 22 caliber derringer discharged while he cleaned the pistol. He called for help after the accident at about 10:30 p.m. Friday. Maynard was treated at Witham Hospital and was reported in good condition. Night Town Marshal Don Ruth and Sheriff were notified.

Three Escape Crash Injuries on State Road 532
Three persons escaped injuries in a two car crash Sunday afternoon on State Road 532 west of Lebanon. David Keith Rader 12 Brownsburg drove a 1956 Chevrolet west, struck the left rear of Harold Edward Williams Advance car, flipping it. Williams car a 1951 Chevrolet, allegedly made an improper left turn. Louella Williams 18 was taken to Witham Hospital for observation and released.

Sheriff Finds Stolen Cars
Three Boone county youths aged 12 to 15 were picked up by Zionsville Marshal Maynard Moore on Sunday for thefts. A 194 Ford four door was recovered demolished after a chase on 106th Street. No injuries were reported. A second car stolen from Indianapolis, found north of Pleasant View Church, was identified as owned by Esther Cody and Fred Dickmeyer and stripped of several parts.

Local Minister Named Methodist Delegate at Midwest Conference
Rev. Forest W. Howell of this city was elected delegate to the North Central Jurisdictional Conference of the Methodist Church, during the 112th annual session of the Methodist Northwest Indiana Conference at Purdue University.
