She faced arraignment in municipal court amid statements of wanting to end the case and take medicine. The case involves a ransom kidnapping described as one of the most inept crimes in history.
At yesterday noon Rotary Club meeting in Country Club, members elected delegates to the International Conference in Cleveland. Indiana highway official Mr Newcombe stressed building safer roads to handle rising traffic, noting seven thousand miles of state highways carry 67 percent of travel. London June 10 A mathematical probability expert Horace W Norton of University College London argues that a perfect hand in bridge is not genuine. He says stories of 13 cards in one suit are extremely unlikely, possible only if the deal was stacked or a player was absent. Norton notes other rare hands exist but are even less probable and questions proofs of perfect hands.
Michigan City, June 10. Desperate outlaws identified as Joseph Paul Cretzer and Edna May Cretzer sparked a renewed search after a police shootout that left Officer Frank Cowgill with a shattered knee. Cowgill recognized their pictures from the FBI file. Cretzer, 29, and Edna May, 32, are Denver residents with a long criminal record and indictments for bank robbery in Los Angeles. He faces multiple bank holdup charges and has been arrested sixteen times under fifteen aliases since 1927.
Ulen Honor Day observance will be held at the Elen Country Club on Sunday June 11. Men compete in an 18 hole medal play tourney with low net score determining the overall winner. Scores serve as qualifiers for an 18 hole match play event in three flights with first rounds by June 25 and finals by August 6. Pan American Airways Atlantic Clipper will depart at 3 p m today for Europe on its four mail flight with a special consignment of king and queen photographs from the visit to America. The ship is due Marseilles early Monday afternoon and the motion pictures will be distributed to London Paris Rome and Berlin by air. Newsreels will show the scenes as early as Monday night and newspapers Tuesday morning.
Noblesville Indiana June 10 Judge Cassius M Gentry of Hamilton county Circuit Court expedited action in the D C Stephenson life term case today He ordered the state to answer by June 17 the objections of Stephenson's attorneys to a state motion for a change of judges in this petition for a new trial.
King George and Queen Elizabeth arrived in New York aboard the destroyer Warrington and were greeted by a massive crowd of about 50,000 at Red Bank New Jersey then drove through a sea of spectators to the New York World's Fair. The royal party toured the fair before heading to Fort Hancock for a crossing to the Battery.
