Poseidon submarine raised after collision off Weihaiwei
An Exchange Telegraph dispatch from Hong Kong said the British submarine Poseidon was located off Weihaiwei after a collision with the Chinese merchant ship Yuta. Six survivors escaped in two groups using the Davis escape apparatus and were rescued by warships. five officers and thirty men were saved earlier, two died, eighteen missing, believed trapped. The Poseidon, one of Britain's newest and largest submarines, was on maneuvers with the Asiatic fleet in shallow water at 20 fathoms.

1931 Acts Not In Force Until Law Case Ends
Indianapolis June 10 1931 Acts of the 1931 Indiana Legislature will remain unpublished and ineffective until the suit over legality is settled. The State Supreme Court ruled today in a writ of prohibition to stop publication of the acts. Attorney General James M Ogden sought the writ for Secretary of State Frank Mayr Jr in charge of publication. The House Bill 6 suit was brought by Indianapolis and Muncie alleging fraud and conspiracy in passage of the bill which shifted control of track and bus lines from cities to the Public Service Commission. The bill was signed by Governor Harry G Leslie in a form differing from that which passed the Senate.

The First National Bank of Lebanon became administrator of the Andrew Earhart estate, a Civil War veteran who died at the Soldier's Home near Lafayette. Quarantine Lifted on Butler Fraternity at Butler University
