Centennial of Boone County celebration planned in Lebanon
The one hundredth anniversary of Lebanon and Boone county will be commemorated with ceremonies and festivities next fall under the Boone County Historical Society Centennial Committee. Plans, discussed for ten years, will be shaped to emphasize Boone county history with a major relic exhibit and countywide cooperation. Old Railroad Engineers Dugan and Moeran to Retire in Denver
Denver dispatch reports Colorado and Southern engineers Daniel J. Dugan 70 and Thomas H. Moeran 70 will retire after 51 and 44 years with the line. Both never in an accident and known as the “long and short of it” in yard lore. Dugan began Nov 18 1879 with Colorado Central, rose to engineer, later chaired the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers on the system 1914–1918. Moeran, also a longtime brakeman and fireman, plans trips and conventions after retirement.

2 500 Delegates Will Attend Annual Convention of Purchasing Agencies
Chicago June 10 First opportunity to survey the 1930 progress of American industry from its commitments will be when 2 500 delegates assemble here June 16 for the annual convention of the National Association of Purchasing Agents. Delegates come from more than 200 lines of business and will discuss coal iron and steel lumber transportation and public utilities.
