Francisco Indiana UPI reports Roy Meier, who found about 101777 dollars in his attic, turned the cash over to authorities and may file a claim later. The money, in three shoeboxes and jars, included a 1928 one thousand dollar bid certificate and mostly 50 and 100 dollar bills. Authorities said disposition will be determined by the courts and the Rembe estate, through attorney Vern Partenheimer Jr., plans to file a claim.

Appeal Granted Freeing Death Row Inmate Edgar Smith
Federal Judge John J. Gibbons ordered Edgar Smith freed on bond after 14 years on death row in Trenton. The court gave the state 24 hours to appeal the May 13 ruling dissolving his murder conviction over coerced questioning in the 15 year old girl’s slaying. Vietnamese Paratroopers Relieve Fire Base 5 Siege
A battalion of South Vietnamese paratroopers landed by helicopter at Fire Base 5 in the Central Highlands to relieve a two month siege, aided by U S and South Vietnamese aircraft using napalm and bombs. B 52s had earlier hit North Vietnamese forces around the base 190 miles north of Saigon as combat continued near Phnom Penh with heavy losses on both sides.

Pool Opens On Schedule As Kids Brave Nippy Weather
Lebanon Seashore Swimming Pool opened on schedule as children queued at 11 30 despite a brisk breeze and cold. A diving area was not opened due to equipment and cleanliness concerns. it should be available tomorrow. Over 100 season tickets had been sold at 20 dollars for families and 10 dollars for individuals. Daily fees were 30 cents children and 55 cents adults on weekdays and 60 cents children and 85 cents adults on weekends and holidays.
