Lebanon Junior Chamber of Commerce and Jayshees set new officers at the Frankfort Country Club. Robert Otterman became Jaycees president, Mrs. Don Brandenburg led the Jayshees, and George Anderson and Mrs. Shoe maker led the outgoing leaders. Key honors went to Norman Hartman and Maurice Wilhoite for yearlong service. Robert Morelock chaired the Outstanding Young Farmer banquet, Eldon McCoskey was director of the year, and new member spoke winners included Wilhoite, Morelock, Byrd, and Oats. Home and Auto Show and Outstanding Young Farmer programs tied as projects of the year. Hugh Busenbark received a special award for long service.

One of the area’s largest skydiving events concluded at Combs Landing field south of Lebanon over the weekend. Prizes went to three clubs for accuracy as 55 contestants competed. Winners included Dennnis McPhearson of Bloomington and Hank Brussman of Indianapolis, with additional honors to Jack Swope of Cloverdale. Several clubs from across the Midwest attended, and a state-wide organization meeting is planned in Seymour next weekend led by Central Indiana association president Robert Riggs.
