Heroic rescue ends in tragedy in Indianapolis home
Joe B Williamson died while saving his 5 year old sister Irene as fire broke out at 1216 Standard avenue rear dwelling. Neighbors and police saved Ruth aged 5 and the mother, who were on the second floor when flames erupted from below. Mrs Williamson injured back while helping, Ruth escaped with minor injuries as the barn like residence burned around them.
