Lawrence Shockley, 33, of Whitestown, was admitted to Witham Hospital after a personal safety related gunshot injury. A .32 caliber bullet pierced his left chest and arm about 4 p.m. near his home, then led him to the Whitestown Tavern for aid. Investigators found no foul play suspected and he remained in hospital for observation.

A 1135 pound satellite named OGO launched to study radiation belts, solar bursts, space dust, and radio noises. It unfolded a 20 foot solar wing array, booms and antennas, reaching 49 feet in length.
