One Jet Pilot Saved Second Found Dead in Atlantic
In Mayport Florida the Navy announced one jet pilot from two that plunged Thursday night over the Atlantic was saved while the second is confirmed dead. President Eisenhower, aboard the USS Saratoga, had earlier thanked rescuers who found the survivor. The search covered sixteen ships and all carrier aircraft, but fate of the second pilot remained uncertain as of the briefing.
