Recovery of Navy Pilot Nabours Body after Lake Michigan Crash
The body of Lt. Laverne Nabours, 30, a Naval jet pilot, was recovered by the Coast Guard ten miles off Michigan City after his May 4 crash in Lake Michigan near Franston Illinois. The search and wreck recovery caused two accidents, the last of which killed four Navy men. The body was identified by dental characteristics and an inscribed wedding ring.
