Old Farnsworth house on West Pearl to be razed for new modern home
The 80 year old Farnsworth property at 403 West Pearl Street Lebanon is being razed after weathering time and climate. Built around 1852 possibly by Strong, it stood as one of Boone County’s oldest wooden structures. John Farnsworth and family occupied it since 1884. Plans by Pinnell Coombs and contractor Charles Eaton will yield a stucco first story. The old house featured seven rooms and two hallways and was mortise and tenon framed with virgin growth timber. Geneva June 7 A telegram from Marquis Quinons de Leon Spanish representative on the League of Nations council said he would be unable to attend the present session. Free Tuberculosis Clinics Start in Lebanon

Memorial Park Opens With Artillery Band Concert

Auto Destroyed By Fire Near Lebanon
A Chrysler Four owned by Paul Bramblett of five miles northwest of Lebanon was nearly destroyed by a freak fire on Saturday while near Thorntown. Smoke poured from the dash as Bramblett stopped the car and tried to extinguish the flames but failed. The interior burned to ashes, leaving only the wheels, tires, and front engine intact. The car will be rebuilt at Hubert Long Garage.

Officers Arrive for Regimental Training School
About thirty officers of the 139th Field Artillery Indiana National Guard arrived for the annual Regimental Officers Training School at the Armory on Indianapolis avenue. The program runs through Thursday with daily sessions for captains and first lieutenants. A dinner at Alen Country Club features Col John S. Fishback and staff guests, followed by a demonstration by Battery C and regular drill. Adjutant General Kershner is expected to visit, with Fishback’s staff likely to attend.
