Indianapolis police report an alleged slayer in custody after a fatal shooting at a West Fifteenth Street home near Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The suspect, Welshman, claimed a revolver was with him and later fled through an alley. the victim Miss Ferguson, married name Macy Mamburg, was struck in the back and died. Neighbors say Welshman had been in a troubling relationship with Ferguson, with rumors of jealousy and reconciliation attempts preceding the incident.

The Central Christian Church board approved the pastor Rev H Barnett taking a two week vacation to serve as an official delegate at a Centennial convention in Britain. He will join ministers Frank Davison Alonzo Gray Ephraim Lowe from nearby communities as they travel to England Scotland for ten days of meetings and related events.
In Indianapolis on June 4 the State Alcoholic Beverages Commission announced the appointment of twenty two new liquor police force members. Led by Ray Hinkle as chief the excise officers will earn 3000 dollars salary for two years or 150 dollars monthly with car allowances and meals. Sheridan Indiana June 6 11 year old Donald Gray, son of Mr and Mrs Oren Gray, was killed when struck by a southbound Monon train while guiding a corn roller across railroad tracks. One horse also killed and another ran away. Gray was a sophomore at Sheridan High School.
