More than 50 attendees filled a Boone County meeting room to hear arguments on a Marion hog feedlot project. Opponents warned of run off and property devaluation near US 421 and SR 47. Proponents argued market needs and supported economic benefits for Boone County farms. A final ruling requires all three county commissioners’ concurrence and could come at the June 18 session.

Safe Peeled In Lebanon Bowling Center Burglary
Thief stole about 1000 dollars from the Lebanon Bowling Center, with part of the money in a peeled safe. Deputies Det indicated the break in occurred between 9 30 p m Sunday and 5 p m Monday. Entry was gained through a north door on Indianapolis Avenue with a chisel ripping the safe. A jukebox and three machines were opened and wiring damaged same time. Investigation continues.
