Refinancing of Loans Possible
The Federal Land Bank of Louisville and the Loan Commissioner are receiving many applications for refinancing farm loans. Boone and Hendricks counties are handled through the Lebanon National Farm Loan Association led by secretary E. C. Gullion. Interest on Federal Land Bank loans drops to 4 percent for five years with deferral of principal. Farm loan commissioner second mortgages run 13 years at 5 percent with three-year principal deferment. Eastern loans can be refinanced through the local association to repay the Eastern loan. A provision allows complete settlement for over‑loaned farmers. Secretary-treasurers meet at Lafayette on Thursday, June 8, to discuss the law details.
