The Boone County Board of Review will meet at the courthouse next Monday and continue for about thirty days to review assessment figures submitted by township officials this year. The session will focus on real estate assessments authorized by the state tax board, with thirty to forty applications submitted for reassessment. Five members serve including ex officio County Assessor Wilson and others. two new holders, Adair and Scott, were appointed. The board aims to equalize figures and distribute the tax load among townships and taxing units.
Chicago on June 4 counsel for James Dalhover last of the Brady gang announces the death sentence will be appealed to the United States Supreme Court. Dalhover was convicted for the killing of State Trooper Paul Minneman during a machine gun battle and faces execution set for June 10.
Noblesville June 4 Judge OC Mac Gentry ruled that the law does not apply to school bus drivers or buses. The decision followed a case brought by Joseph Newby against Dinals EF Stiver and state officials. About 20 women in two cars sped from Miami to Fort Lauderdale on a rumored kidnap investigation tied to Princeton Florida.
