Mrs Elizabeth Miller Rooneys oldest resident died Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock near Thorntown She was living with her daughter Mrs Taylor and funeral will be held Friday at Lutheran Church South east of Darlington
Mrs. Miller born April 1811 near Cincinnati Ohio, daughter of George and Elizabeth Miller. She married Daniel Miller and had eight children, all now deceased. Survived by Irn Miller, Amos Miller, five grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral Friday at 11 in Lutheran Church southeast of Starlington.
The city council will elect a new school board member to replace J. W. Witt whose term ends. Among candidates named are William Jeans Ivory Tolle John C Perkins John Moran J A Hogshire and John Wade. The list is expected to be narrowed before week’s end.
H H Underwood Lloyd Holeelaw and William Kirke Dan Ville Ind horsemen rode in by auto to the city for track workouts. Otis Johnson of Hen sob county drives the wiring featuring animals owned by Underwood and Kirke. Underwood may be remembered as Princewood’s owner, the sensational pacer of two years.
Rev. and Mrs. A L Ward and son Wilbur plan to travel to Indianapolis on Wednesday to visit Mrs Ward's sister Mrs W E McKey. They will attend the Butler College opera Robin Hood on Wednesday and the commencement exercises on Thursday where Paul Ward will graduate. the senior production Robin Hood features Lebanon boys Paul Ward and Harry Budd.

Mrs Malissa Mohler died at 3 15 a m at her daughter Mrs Arthur Browns Indianapolis residence from a brain tumor after months of affliction and a recent operation failed. Born October 13 1860 in Boone county she was 53 years 7 months 11 days old. Survived by daughter Grace Brown Indianapolis and son Fraz Mohler. Funeral 1 30 p m from Mrs Browns Indianapolis home with burial at Oak Hill after 4 p m arrival by Big Four. Pallbearers listed by cemetery association include FP 8 Neal A E Witt Ben F McKey Frank Coombs Pleasant Shoemaker and D Whitaker.
The Doreas class of the Presbyterian church enjoyed a porch party at Mrs. Forest Duff's near Flizaville on Wednesday afternoon. About twenty eight members traveled in autos for sewing, embroidery, and conversation. Refreshments included pineapple ice and cake. Mrs. Duff and hostesses Mesdames Joe Meyers Gard Cutler Leonard Langjahr David Butner and Miss Anna Crawford served guests.
Wendell Little known as Doc in basketball circles passed through Lebanon en route to Lafayette for Purdue commencement exercises where he will be honored. He will then proceed to Valparaiso to assume the sanitary inspector role for Porter county in a lucrative position.
London on June 4 Douglas Straight portraited as a leading English journalist died today at age 70. The veteran reporter and columnist had a long career shaping editorial voice in major publications. He was widely respected for coverage of politics and public affairs.
The Central Christian church auxiliary met at Mrs. Verne Nelson’s home on East South Street. Mrs. Elizabeth Hedges led the business session, with nominating officers named to start duties in October. The mite box opening is planned for the last Wednesday in June at Mrs. W. H. Williams’s home.
George Reddick died at noon at his parents home seven miles northeast of Lebanon on the William Brenton farm after a bout with tuberculosis of the kidneys and bladder. He had been ill since last August and was briefly in Indianapolis Methodist hospital. his body was brought home yesterday by auto. He leaves six sisters and two brothers. He was twenty years old.
Rev. A. L. Ward spoke to the Ladies' Foreign Missionary Society Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. The address on "The Need and the Opportunity of Missions" was well received and showed strong belief in the cause and knowledge of foreign work. Attendees regarded the afternoon as exceptionally profitable.
Interest grows as seventy seven enrollments are recorded for the vacation school at Central Christian church. Parents are urged to send their children for the story hour as the regular attendance remains below desired levels.
A Bar Association committee of Jesse Neff Judge B S Higgins and John Hornaday was appointed to draft resolutions on the death of O P Mahan and will report at the Monday bar meeting. The Boone area session followed.

Mrs Ora Heftin hosted the Country Culture Club on Wednesday afternoon with all members present. Guests enjoyed a delicious luncheon featuring strawberries, cream, and cake in a cheerful social to celebrate the group.
Maple Grove United Brethren Church three miles east of Lebanon in Center township plans a full day Home Coming next Sunday June 7 with repaired church re seating and re papered interior and an outdoor noon basket dinner. Three services are scheduled morning afternoon and night with music by W. W. Stevens and family of Lebanon. preacher for the occasion not announced.
INDIANAPOLIS June 4 Sumner W Haynes of Portland was chosen to lead Indiana Prohibitionists in the fall campaign at the closing session of the party convention in Tomlinson hall He defeated John R Golden of Angola 221 to 100 and was tapped to run for United States senator The convention also nominated a full state ticket with I S Wade J L Bishop Oscar J Current Mercier Brown C A Mumart Ralph Jo Lord B W Stoddard S J North S F Watson A B Kirkpatrick I G Pollard and T E Ballard for various offices including secretary of state auditor treasurer attorney general and judges.
Planingem, son of former county treasurer John A. Flaningam, reached here from Laslaville, Kentucky, on Wednesday night for a brief stay, meeting local residents and discussing his plans.
Lightning struck the Watts home during a recent electrical storm. Mrs. Watts suffered a fractured rib when she and Paul were knocked to the floor by the shock that traveled along wires from a telephone pole. Arthur Watts, a printer by trade, previously in Lebanon, now farms near Nashville.

John Bowen found guilty of contempt for failing to pay 85 per month child support. He was sentenced to five days in county jail or until he complies with the court order to settle the overdue amount.
A funeral director sues Walter L Hunt and Edgar Love for 145 dollars for sickroom director services filed in Crawfordsville and moved to this county. Love counters that the plaintiff is not a licensed embalmer. The text notes related debts and a judgment against Charles with referenced attorney fees.
