Boone County 4-H'ers To Attend Round-Up

Tavern Brawl Fatal in Noblesville Indiana

John Batton aged 37 from Noblesville died of head injuries after a tavern brawl. Police detained Charles Jones and Dale Henshaw, both Noblesville residents, with possible manslaughter charges pending investigation.

Drive-In Theft Solved By Local Officers

Four Clinton county men were taken into custody for the theft Saturday night of three speakers at the Frankfort-Lebanon Drive-in on State Road 39 north. Mathews, driver of the car, was released after JP court and a $5 fine. Hulett, Moore, and Houchens remain held in Boone County Jail. A spectator alerted theater owner Harry Ziegler, who pursued authorities as the suspects fled in a car. license traces led Colfax Marshal to Colfax, where the speakers were recovered with Deputy Sheriff John Denney assisting.

Seashore Pool Opens Tuesday in Lebanon

John Aaron new manager announces Lebanon Seashore Swimming Pool opens for 1963 summer season Tuesday with season tickets on sale 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices are 7.50 for individuals and 15 for families. Miss Phyllis Collins cashier and Jacque Palmer assists. Pool hours are 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday, 1 to 9 a.m. Sundays and holidays. Five lifeguards and six employees. Delays due to rust in pipes and sewage repairs. the pool has been repainted.

Fire destroys barn and cattle on Chester Frosberg farm

A blaze Sunday destroyed a barn on a Valparaiso area farm owned by Chester Frosberg resulting in the loss of between 75 and 90 head of cattle. Fire crews from nearby departments battled the flames, but the structure and livestock could not be saved.

Six Americans Among 29 Dead in Plane Crash

A Air India or Indian Airlines two engine aircraft crashed near Pathankot in northwest India. All 29 aboard were killed. Among the victims were six Americans including Prof James C. Bicyclist Hit By Car Injures Local Boy

Eight-year-old Daniel Adair, son of Mr and Mrs Morris Adair, suffered head injuries after a bicycle collision with a car on South Outer Drive at 1 24 p m. He was transported to Witham Hospital. Driver Leo P Gauss, 63, of 740 East 10th Street, Indianapolis, was not held. The accident was investigated by City Police.

Teenage Drownings Reported In Indiana Weekend

A 12 year old girl Dorothy Louise Litton of near Butlerville drowned at Bruss Creek Reservoir while swimming with sisters and a cousin. Her body was found in 35 feet of water about an hour later. A 16 year old boy Donald Stamper of Charlestown drowned late Sunday while attempting to swim 100 feet across a pond on a local farm. His body was recovered an hour later by residents Harry and Larry Leonard.

Prairie Creek Notices Mailed and Hearings Planned

Estimated assessment notices weighing 20 pounds went to 3079 property owners in the Prairie Creek drainage area. Boone County surveyor Carl Anderson said final reports were filed in circuit court and that initial assessments cover 4400 properties, with final amounts expected about 10 percent lower.
