Welfare visitor Harold Simson asks Frank Long for cooperation to place children in town or farm homes with $12 weekly board and room plus limited clothing. Most children come from broken homes but are not up for adoption to keep families together.
Funeral services for Mrs John Graham, 87, who died yesterday, will be held at 2 pm at her Danville home. Weaver Funeral Home in charge. Burial in K P Cemetery at Ligton. She was sister of Mrs Frank Haunstein of 619 South Lebanon Street.
Lebanon Lions Club announces four summer concerts at Memorial Park in June and July. First show Sunday June 3 at 2 30 p m features local Lions and Boone county players. Other dates include June 16 and June 30 with talent shows, and July 3 at 2 30 p m with more concerts to follow.
A Lebanon group of Rotarians and wives including Mr and Mrs Wilbur Whitehead and others joined the five day Rotary International Golden Anniversary Convention in Chicago. Incoming president Mr Whitehead served as a voting delegate while Mr Smith and Mr Jones attended all sessions. The convention honors Rotary founders and leaders and featured the Indiana-Illinois regional dinner with guest speaker Lord Bishop Thomas H Cashmore of Wakefield England. Continued on Page
A four months premature baby girl believed dead by a doctor and a funeral home attendant showed movement after being moved at the funeral home in Houston. The infant, weighing about 2 pounds, was rushed to a hospital where she later improved. An osteopath credited artificial respiration and a funeral home move with restoring signs of life.
The Naval Academy graduated its sixth class with a cap toss and remarks by Navy Secretary Thomas. About 10,000 in Dahleren Hall watched as 740 midshipmen were sworn into the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps and urged to lead with fairness, openness, and responsibility.
The Senate approved a billion dollar foreign aid program after defeating all attempts to cut the total. The final vote was 59 to 18 with support from 11 Republicans and seven Democrats. The measure awaits House action, with money to carry it out to be voted separately, while opponents promise to press for reductions in Appropriations. The plan allows Yugoslavia to receive 40 percent of defense aid for the coming year, plus undisclosed military items.
In Williamsburg Kentucky Chief Vester Mays commandeered a water truck to race to a bank as Harvie E Hill 33 Rockhold Ky attempted a getaway. City Councilman Obs Crowkey and Hill struggled near the car with Crowkey grabbing the bandit then tossing his pistol onto the seat. Eleven thousand five hundred thirty nine dollars were taken but a footnote amount was later restored to the bank. Seven employees and two customers were herded into a vault. alarms activated as the bandit entered.
Psi Otes Sponsor Project for summer reading opens June 6 at Carriege Public Library under Omega chapter of Psi Leta Ni sorority. Registration ends June 29. Readings run through August 31 for Lebanon and Center township youths from grades four through nine. Rewards include a student prize chosen by the sorority. committee members listed.

He stressed cash flow, reserve funds, emergency readiness, turnover, and personnel harmony with case histories. James McIntyre presented the subject. Allen Parr announced a board meeting for Monday June 6 at Town & Country drive-in.
Frankfort to open a physical therapy department at Clinton County Hospital funded by the County Society for Crippled Children and Adults. Mrs Robert H. Wright of Terre Haute Ind will serve as registered physical therapist after training at Pittsburgh or Lettada le. The move has the approval of Clinton County Medical Society and hospital directors.
John Abbott of Melbourne Australia spent a weekend in Lebanon with Mr and Mrs Russell Shoe and family visiting relatives. He toured farms of the Morton brothers and Henry Sumpter spoke at the Rotary Club during International Week. Abbott, a dry goods merchant and sheep farmer, attended the 500 Mile Race as a press reporter and praised local hospitality.
