Gainesville Ga June 3 The city of 6000 faces a terrible toll from Monday’s cyclone with about 100 killed and 164 injured, possibly more as doctors fear additional deaths among the wounded. Eight hundred homeless, half a million dollars in property loss, and a wide trail of destruction through the mills and surrounding districts are reported.
Washington June 3 Heath enters a general denial of the Tulloch charge and the office department investigation proceeds as rapidly as possible with the investigating officials pushing ahead to uncover facts.
Payne said core points of the investigation may be settled by month’s end with remaining work continuing longer. Heath denies Tulloch charges as arrests loom for others involved. In Boston, Senator Foster faces sexual harassment allegations amid a broader probe into postal service corruption.
