Boone County Planning Board moved Heritage Park re zoning to advisement after a 200 person turnout voiced broad support. No official opposition appeared though some questioned features of the $30 million project. Officials hoped a final vote would come within a week with ground breaking projected this fall or next spring and a 18 month build, leading to a 10 000 to 12 000 person planned community on 2900 acres near I 65 and SR 47.

Wholesale Prices Of Meats Fruits Up 2.6 Per Cent In May
Washington reports wholesale prices for fresh meats vegetables and other farm products rose 2.6 percent in May after two declines. Unemployment hovered near 6 percent for the 19th straight month while the broader wholesale index rose 0.6 percent led by farm products. Livestock up 4.5 percent and fruits and vegetables up 2.6 percent with poultry and processed meats rising as well.

The forecast calls for sunny and warmer conditions today with highs in the low to mid 80s and humid nights in the mid to upper 50s. Tonight remains fair and warmer and Saturday should see highs in the upper 80s with near zero to low precipitation chances.
Breakthroughs Reported in Treating Leukemia and Cancer
New York based report cites breakthroughs in leukemia and other cancers. Dr Joseph V Simone from St. Jude's Memphis said high dose radiation treated CNS leukemia, with 17 percent surviving free of cancer cells over seven years about a 50 percent long term leukemia free rate. Dr C Gordon Zubrod of NCI noted one in five children with acute leukemia receive intensive modern therapy.
