Lifeless Baby Declared Stillborn Then Breathing En Route
In Corpus Christi a premature girl weighing one pound two ounces showed no signs of life and was declared stillborn by the delivering doctor. An hour later on the way to a funeral home attendants found the infant breathing, turned the ambulance back toward Memorial Medical Center, and placed the child in an incubator where she was noted as breathing and crying. A physician said survival chances were slim, while the mother was reported to be doing fine.

Central to Start 1970 Elementary Summer Classes

Parking Code Sparks Debate At Courthouse Meeting
Boone County Commissioners seek talks with Leba non Mayor Robert M. Campbell to arrange county employee parking downtown amid a second read of a stricter parking meter ordinance. The plan, opposed by commissioners, would levy a $2 fine after a two hour limit and 50 cent to $2 fines elsewhere if paid quickly, with a $5 notice penalty if mailed. They also eye private lot use for courthouse staff in exchange for control of meters around the courthouse. In other business, the court house will close Saturdays in June July and August. Memorial Park tax levy may rise from one to two cents starting 1971 to fund park facilities and maintenance.
