Ethel Oldendore of Theta town dies after long illness at the local hospital. She was a daughter of AlEiytarah and wife of Walter BP Oldendurf. The family resided in Lebswell for many years and Mr Glienaarten managed the business. She was active in the Presbyterian Church. Page four.

Thief Steals Cash Candy and Pop from Farm Bureau Elevator

Burglars entered the Boone County Farm Bureau Camp elevator formerly the Hiatt Feed and Train on South East Street last night or today. They took about 12 to 13 dollars in cash, two and a half boxes of candy, and between eight and 12 bottles of pop. The cash fund supported for the annual employee picnic. The pop was consumed on site and empty bottles left behind. Entry was gained through a window on the west end.

Bee stings and oil fire mar events in Marinette

A faulty wiring fire burned the right hand of Jacob Wilcox 9 Proprietor of W Transfer Storage at 117 West South street when a bucket of oil ignited. Firemen doused the blaze about 3 o clock. Separately in Marinette a bee crawled into John Overman Jr s moving car causing a collision with a power line and two lines fell blocking the trail. Overman was bruised but not stung.

Lebanon firemen will attend the annual Purdue fire school this week with one shift led by Chief Robert Laffin and members William Spurr Russell DeBard and John Straughan. A Navy task force searched choppy Norfolk waters after a launch overturned near the carrier group. Twenty three Marines and sailors were missing and presumed drowned, with two dozen rescued as crews battled rough seas and late-night winds.

Nazi doctors executed at Landsberg gallows

Seven Nazi physicians convicted of horrific prisoner experiments were executed at Landsberg on June 2.
