United Spanish War Veterans of Indiana held its last district meeting of the year in Anderson with Ed Harvey and family, F A Spray, and Bert Kibben in attendance. Death of farmer Charles Taylor from apoplexy near Thorntown
Charles Elden Taylor aged 68 years 6 months 9 days died Saturday night at 7 oclock at his Thorntown area home after a weeklong apoplexy. He was born in Boone county and lived there all his life. Survived by wife and two children Ralph near Hazelrigg and Mrs Clay Sumpter east of Thorntown, plus a sister Maud Hollis of Paris Tl and brothers Wesley Slife Frank Clinton and George P. Taylor all of Haselrigg. Funeral 2 pm today from his residence with Rev p C Coy officiating. Interment in Taylor cemetery.

Wrecked Cars Taken to Kokomo After Lebanon Crash
A wrecking crew from Kokomo arrived in Lebanon Saturday night and towed the damaged Haines car from Jamestown into town. Orme of Chicago drove the car when wrecked and, claiming he dozed off, steered into a ditch after a front wheel failed. Six occupants, three women, escaped injury and later Orme sold the car for 75 dollars to the Kokomo garage.

Donald K Bell of Whitestown high school placed second in the shot put at the twelfth annual University of Chicago national interscholastic meet held Saturday in Chicago Stage Mieski. The event was won by John Kucko of Wilson Kansas with 65 feet inches.
