Jamestown Bicentennial Parade Caps Three Day Celebration
Between 3000 and 4000 people lined Jamestown streets Saturday for a two mile parade closing a three day Bicentennial celebration. Future Farmers of America won best float with Town of Advance Osceola second and Dairy Pharm third. Western Boone High School marching band played the Star Spangled Banner on Main Street. Parade ran without delays. Friday events moved indoors due to rain.

Lebanon Woman Killed in Boone County Crash
Patricia D. Spears, 20, of Lebanon, died in a one car crash on Elizaville Road at 9:35 A.M. The wreck injured her two children, Katrina Marie 2 in serious condition and Kenneth James 1 in satisfactory condition, both treated at Riley Memorial Hospital and Indiana University Medical Center before transfer to Indianapolis.

PSI condemnation case opens in Boone Superior Court
Jury selection began this morning in Boone as Public Service of Indiana sues Carl and Burl Ottinger to condemn land in Eagle Township. About 35 jurors were called. Judge Paul H. Johnson Jr. presided and did not comment on trial duration. In unrelated Superior Court news, George H. Gosnell, 37, of 810 Franklin Street, received another continuance on his LSD sentencing, set after a 12 1/2 year jury-recommended term.

She fought leukemia while remaining active in Republican politics and community work. Survived by husband Keith C. McCormick, a daughter Kyle Kincaid, two sons Robert II and Ronald Stevens, a brother and a sister. Last rites Thursday at Russell and Hitch Funeral Home with interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Contributions suggested to Boone County Cancer Society or Boone County Blood Bank.

Two Explosions Hit U S Army V Corps in Frankfurt
In Frankfurt West Germany two time bombs exploded at the U S Army V Corps headquarters injuring five. The first blast hit the first floor at 1 20 p m and the second on the steps to a service club. A U S Army spokeswoman reported no exterior damage and noted her chair moved but windows stayed intact.

Martha Mitchell to be buried in Pine Bluff after death in New York
Martha Mitchell, estranged wife of former Attorney General John N. Mitchell, died Monday in a New York hospital from a rare bone cancer. She will be buried Thursday in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she spent her youth as a Southern belle. Her son and daughter plan to attend the funeral, arriving Wednesday.
