Turks Rescue Hostage Kill Wound Gunmen in Kartal
In Kartal Turkey security forces fought two gunmen and freed 14 year old hostage Sibel Erkan after a siege that left one gunman dead and the other gravely wounded. The girl was reunited with her father a Turkish army major as crowds demanded punishment for the attackers. Munir Cayan the other victim died after being shot earlier.

Indiana Governor Whitcomb and budget director Taylor directed State Auditor Atkins to disburse 16.5 million dollars in inheritance tax windfall to 91 counties. Boone County receives 143,221 dollars for the general fund.
