Indiana will gain over 2 million dollars annually from the pension law passed by Congress estimates by Indiana members of Congress. About 4,800 veterans in Indiana are eligible for increases with an average rise of 61 dollars per year. If 39,800 Indiana soldiers draw the amount the total yearly extra pension would be about 2,061,800. Due to advancing veteran ages and high death rates the Indiana share will steadily diminish.

Mrs Maura Petty formerly of this county and her daughter Doris were badly injured Thursday near the Speedway in Indianapolis when struck by an outbound Ben Hur interurban car. Doris is in critical condition with severe brain concussion while Mrs Petty’s injuries are serious but not life threatening. They were taken to St Vincent's hospital after initial care at Dr Ralph Chappell’s office. The Petty family previously lived in Lafayette and Lebanon area, with ties to Mrs L Cason of this city and Frank Thomas of Hazelrigg as a brother.
