Fire at Oldendorf carriage factory devastates business district
A morning blaze swept the Oldendorf carriage factory on Pearl Street and spread through adjacent structures in the business district. Tenth Infantry Passes Through Here On Special Trains
Three special trains carrying United States soldiers passed through over the Big Four railway. The Tenth United States Infantry under Col. Henry A. Greene, with about 570 members, traveled from Seattle to Fort Benjamin Harrison. The Crook transport from Alaska faced an ice pack but sustained little delay. Trains carried 28 officers and 501 enlisted men with company assignments noted.

Funeral Franks Sims Rites Slated Saturday
The Frankfort Times reports William S. Sims died Wednesday night in Indianapolis. His body was brought home on the 12:48 car and placed at the Kant Washington street residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. J. M. McLear and Rev. J. Tillotson officiating. Interment will follow at the J. C. C. F. cemetery. Masons met the hearse at the interurban depot and escorted the casket.

Triplet Basil Pitman Dies At 17 Months Old
Basil Pitman, one of triplets aged seventeen months nine days, died at home near Michigantown after a brief illness caused by cholera infantum. Funeral services were held at 2 pm at the home with Rev. Cloyd Goodnight officiating, burial at Poplar Grove cemetery. Grandfather James Kelley is gravely ill with paralysis and unable to speak.

Royalton Man 10 Sues Big Four For Damages
Frank Sanders of Royalton plans to sue the Big Four railroad in Marion County Court for 5000 dollars. The alleged accident occurred September 4, 1907 at Flackville crossing near Indianapolis while Sanders, with produce, waited for a freight train then drove onto the tracks and was struck by a passenger train. The wagon was destroyed and produce lost. Sanders was thrown about twenty feet with bruises. the horses were not hurt.

Injured Martin King Suffered Severe Ear Injury in Fall
Martin King fell from the rear of a wagon while threshing wheat on his farm southwest of Whitestown Thursday afternoon. He struck the sharp edge of the wagon bed and nearly severed his right ear with a deep facial gash.
