Squire White Dies After Month of Illness

Squire Jefferson White aged twenty four years ten months and days died at 9:15 Tuesday night at his Harrison Township home after a month long illness. Born Sept 7 1883 in Shelby County he married Sarah Babb who predeceased him. Survived by Eli A Partner John E Albert Walker and James. brother John White and sister Rebecca McClain. Funeral at Old Union church Thursday at 10:20 with Rev Charles Sherrill officiating. Interment in Old Union cemetery.

About two hundred workers from Lebanon and Crawfordsville mitten factories held a joyful picnic at Rock River retreat near this city. Sixty Lebanon young ladies with several young men arrived by special car, joined by a hundred local factory merrymakers. They traveled by river hacks and boats, fished a bit, and enjoyed picnic style dinner and supper.

Child dragged by cow ends in injury at Frankfort

Automobile Garage to Be Erected at Once

Miss Mollie Scott Struck by Lightning at Barnhart Cafe

Miss Mollie Scott of Frankfort Ind was struck by lightning during a heavy storm and rendered unconscious. Though initially thought dead she recovered slightly but remains in serious condition at Barnhart cafe where she was standing in the doorway. The county saw heavy rain that benefits local corn crops.

Illinois man claims weather control invention

Danville Illinois July 15 a sixty eight year old farmer John Norcross of Alton declares he has produced a machine to influence the weather and produce a desired state. The device uses high potential electrical current from accumulators and a 150 foot mast to project into the atmosphere. Norcross envisions a commercial revolution saving farmers millions and preventing maritime losses though he cautions community opposition will arise. He plans to patent the invention and form a company then sell the discovery to the United States Government.

Live wire falls near Bischof’s store in Crawfordsville

A street live wire fell in front of Bischof's store, causing bright sparks and a blazing display. It had supported a banner across the street, broke, and struck the trolley line. Firework-like sparks persisted as another wire remained live nearby near an approaching car.
