In Dayton Tennessee July 14 during the Scopes trial third session Clarence Darrow objected to opening with prayer. Judge Raulston overruled saying prayer at court is reasonable. Rev A C Stribbling offered the opening prayer as tensions rose between science and religion. Darrow demanded daily objections though the judge said prayers would continue.

Ring Lost Twenty Years Ago Found In Good Condition
Mrs. Joseph Ege of this city recalls losing her wedding ring twenty years ago on a farm five miles east of town. The ring was searched for widely with no result. This week Mrs. Samuel Reeser, now on the former Ege farm, found the ring in the yard near the house with a turf circle showing where it had been trod. The ring remained in very good condition despite twenty years of wind and weather.

Convictions in Boone Circuit Court for Six Months in 1925
During the first six months of 1925 the Boone circuit court obtained 21 convictions, including 18 felonies. Fourteen defendants received sentences to reformatories or prisons, two to the women's prison, six to the penal farm, and one under the lazy husband’s act with two years’ probation. Only two suspensions occurred, one revoked. The court plans September term.
