Detective Sergeant William D. Walling Jr and Miss May Linzmayer a 19 year old nurse were found shot to death in the rear of Walling s sedan parked at a road intersection. An .82 caliber revolver two shots fired a cartridge belt holster and a blackjack were recovered. Witness Meidendorff a nearby watchman heard rapid gunfire then found the bodies. Both victims were shot in the heart.

Washington July 10 Indications of an enormous corn crop probably the largest ever grown slight improvement in prospect for wheat prediction of the smallest potato production since 191 and unfavorable fruit forecasts were set forth in the July crop report issued today by the department of agriculture. With a higher condition than the ten year average and a per acre gain 1.5 percent larger than last year corn production was forecast at 3 095 000 000 bushels a 650 000 000 more than last year.

Noblesville Indiana July 10 all possibility of D C Stephenson and Karl Klenck and Earl Gentry being tried in Hamilton county court before October on a murder charge was ended today. The court docket was ordered closed until October by Judge Hines. His order shuts off the last hope of the defense to have the case heard this adjourned session starting July 22. Habeas corpus to obtain bond release remains the only action that could prevent the trio from spending the summer in jail. New Wheat Sold At 1 42 In Local Market
The first load of new wheat arrived at Boone Grain and Supply Company in Lebanon. It was threshed at A W Cash farm west of Lebanon and sold for 1.42 a bushel. It graded No 2 and tested 58 pounds to the bushel. Weather favors threshing to start early next week though winter damage hints at a short crop. Yields vary with some forecasts up to 35 bushels per acre while others may yield only four to ten. Oats show potential gains despite drought and hail damage in parts of the county.
