Lebanon Library Sets New Record For Book Loans
The Public Library reported a December record with 7 691 books loaned, 500 more than any prior month, head librarian Mrs Cora O Bynum said. Saturday December 6 saw 44 books borrowed, 51 new readers cards issued, and 4 146 active readers. The library houses 121 706 volumes, about 18 000 strictly books, with ongoing non fiction growth. An information bureau serves businessmen ministers teachers and students, led by Clara Bush and Lucile Clay. The system includes a high school branch under Mrs Gertrude L Cook and nine township branches directed by Luella Kent and others.

Sarah A Sorrell Dies at 88 in Mechanicsburg Home
Mrs. Sarah A. Sorrell, aged 88 years 11 months and 24 days, died at 4 15 a m today at her Mechanicsburg home after a brief illness. Born in Kentucky, she married Joseph Bore in Scott County in 1860. The couple moved to Indiana and lived in Greensburg eleven years before settling in Boone county and then Mechanicsburg for twenty five years. Surviving are three children including Charles A. Sorrell. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
