The Lebanon National and First National Banks elected new officers yesterday with George W. Norwood as president of the bank and M. C. Long to head the American Trust Company. E. F. Lane resigned due to ill health after fifteen years with the bank. he plans retirement within a month and may enter a less confining business. Robbery suspects nabbed at Lapland Hotel in Chicago
Lee Downer alias McCoon, 28, arrested with Josephine Spry at 662 West Van Buren awaiting a minister. They are charged with robbing deputy sheriff Ro H. Scott of a ring, diece and gold watch plus cash in a hotel crime at 26 State street. No known deputy sheriff by that name locally and Boone county has had no such officer recently.

Two Barns Burned at Ad Hessong Farm Fire
A blaze at Ad Hessong's old Riley farm near Holmes Station destroyed a large barn and a nearby log barn last night. The fire started about seven o'clock with unknown origin. neighbors summoned help by telephone and a substantial fire crew saved the cribs and house. Livestock and most farm tools were saved, but the barns’ contents, including 150 bushels of corn, hay, and straw, were lost.

Regular tiger hunt in Indiana county reported
Petersburg Indiana January 15 a regular tiger hunt is in progress across the county. About 200 men from Jasper Otwell Petersburg and Winslow left work to aid capturing or killing the tiger. The beast first appeared near Otwell last week and has terrorized residents within eight miles. Farmers fear leaving their homes at night as the tiger raided a hen roost and killed two small pigs. The animal has not yet attacked a human but remains aggressive and elusive. Neighborhood dogs were killed after injuries from encounters. Citizens use pitchforks and heavy tools to join the hunt.
