Pioneer G ' tipton' Veteran of Civil War Dies Today
Arthur Park Stephenson aged 81 a Boone county pioneer and Civil War veteran died at the Soldiers Home Lafayette after a two month illness. Born April 28 1848 he lived near Lebanon and in the county all his life. He served as a corporal in Company C 139th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and belonged to Rich Mountain Post G A R. Surviving are his widow and three children and two stepchildren. Private funeral Sunday at 2 pm at his residence with Rev W P McKinsey officiating burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
