Miss Mary Voorhees, formerly of this city and now in Chicago, will be featured on WLS tonight between 7 and 8. The Sears Roebuck station will air the pianist from Sherman el, with frequent past radio appearances noted on Wednesdays at 3:45 to 4:46.
Mrs Rosa Smith aged 42 died from burns after kerosene touch on live coals caused an explosion at her home early Wednesday. Funeral services will be Friday at Central Christian church with Rev John M Horne officiating. Interment at Oak Hill. Kenneth Smith, 21, severely burned, remains hospitalized with a fighting chance. The family lived near Lebanon before moving to Indianapolis two months ago. she leaves five children Carrie, Doris, Ralph, Kenneth, and Wallace, plus siblings and a husband Ira Smith.
Indiana state board orders a statewide realty reassessment in 1926 for 1925 tax base. Boone County will hire more assessors, stretch budgets, and extend the board of review session to 35 days to complete new valuations by June. Local officials expect higher farm land values from 1922.

William H. Kershner of Indianapolis was chosen to become adjutant general of the Indiana National Guard, succeeding Harry B. Smith who has held the post for years. Jackson announced the appointment. Kershner joined the guard in 1882 and served in the quartermaster general's department during the Spanish American War.

Four gunmen raided baker George Matthews in Martinsville Indiana stealing $800 and tying Matthews and customer Gus Goings to a stairway banister. They were bound for about two hours before freeing themselves. Morgan county authorities hunted the suspects after the early morning burglary.
