Bloodhounds tracked from Oklahoma City as authorities investigate whether the assailant intended robbery or was connected to Brownsville discharges. The incident follows reports of court martial actions against officers over the Brownsville affair.
The Seniors and Freshman teams prevailed in the first High Select Basket Ball League games yesterday after one week of practice. Dillie Thompson died at 3 a m Friday at a home near Mooresville after a nine months illness with brain and lung disease. Born December 26 1876 in the county, she was 29 years 1 month 25 days old. She was a daughter of the late Jonathan O Thompson and survived by five brothers Lewis Ira Albert Grant Morton and five sisters Lillie Taylor Minnie Staton Anna Melton Cora Gilbert and Olive Sharp. A Christian church member at Gadsden she will be brought to Lebanon for interurban service Sunday at 1 22 p m and funeral at 2 p m Central Christian church with Rev Mr Smith Indianapolis. Burial at Oak Hill cemetery.
An Oceanic Company steamship reports the uninhabited atoll Hikueru in the Pomotus group has vanished. Scientists suspect a severe earthquake caused the reef island to sink, noting no vegetation and previous hurricane activity. The atoll was known for pearl fishing.

The death occurred this morning from typhoid fever. Miss Ruby Davis, daughter of Monroe Davis, would have turned seventeen next March. A younger sister, Miss Lena Davis, is also ill with typhoid fever and the family is well known to local residents.
The Sophomores of the High School held a class meeting at Lew Hostetter's home last night with Miss Mable Hostetter as hostess. About forty five guests attended, including two teachers Mrs Doehleman and Miss Ristine. The evening was informal and pleasant, a two course lunch was served.
