Two Held For Theft Of Manhole Covers

Two laborers William Burkhardt aged 37 of Lindenhurst and Vincent Matuz a 24 of Merrick were charged with grand larceny after authorities alleged they stole about 60 manhole covers weighing 350 pounds each from nearby highways. Spencer Iowa honors real Santa Claus with six trees

The town of Spencer dedicates six evergreen trees in Glen Pedersen American Legion Park to memory of Joy Roberts known as Spencer's Santa Claus.
