13 year old Fayette boy struck by car in Leban on West Street
A 13 year old Fayette boy from Lebanon Junior School was hit by a car on West Street downtown and taken to Witham Hospital after lunch. The youth suffered only minor injuries and was treated for a possible rib issue. The driver Paul Aln Lasley 20 said the boy darted into the road from the north curb. A companion John Smith of Lebanon was nearby. No citations were issued in this accident. James Mikesell 21 of Lebanon was arrested after a fight near Huckstep Appliance Store and charged with assault and resisting arrest.

George A Wray 82 of Colfax was found dead in his garage after a car with running engine was left there. his German Shepherd barely survived. In a separate incident a 45-year-old woman was hospitalized at Witham after an overdose of barbiturates linked to recent domestic difficulties.
