Preston convicted of slaying woman in Wheaton
John Preston, once dubbed a model husband, was found guilty of murdering a young woman strangled on the outskirts of Wheaton Illinois. After over three hours of deliberation a jury delivered the verdict in Judge William Fultons court. Sentencing was postponed to December 14 for a motion for a new trial.
Ezekiel Dye 80 Dies in Indianapolis Home
Ezekiel Dye, age 80, Boone county native and longtime Lebanon resident, died at 4 a m today at the home of his daughter Mrs J E Curtis 2359 English avenue Indianapolis after a three year illness. He worked as a Singer Sewing Machine Company representative in the area. Surviving are daughter Mrs Curtis of Indianapolis and Albert Dye of Detroit with another daughter Mrs Joseph LaBelle deceased. He leaves two brothers Ingram and William Dye and several deceased siblings. Burial details noted in Methodist connection.
