Three Injured In Motor Accidents Over Weekend

Two crashes near Lebanon and Elizaville left three people injured, none seriously. A Ford tour car owned by Dale Bulmer and driven with Marion and Mrs. Anderson rolled on Crawfordsville road injuring Bulmer and Mrs. Anderson. They were treated at Illinois hospital and released. A separate crash on Elizaville road injured five year old Franklin McVey, who was thrown through a windshield when a milk can distracted his mother. He received treatment at Williams hospital before returning home.

Death follows six months illness in Boone county

Mrs Sylvia Ek Steelsmith aged 27 died Sunday at 3 20 PM at her Marion township home after a tuberculosis illness that lasted six months. She had lived in Boone county all her life and was married December 29 1917 to Clyde Steelsmith. One child is deceased. Surviving are her mother Mrs Elizabeth Casey Padgett stepfather James Padgett brother Roy Sedwick Whitestown two half brothers Johnnie Edmund Padgett and two step-brothers Alfred Otha Padgett Charles Padgett of California one half sister Mrs Gertrude Bishop and two half sisters Mrs Ona Dean Frankfort and Mrs Bertha Case Champaign Illinois. Funeral from the late residence near Slab Town Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev Thistlethwaite officiating burial in Mrs Run cemetery.

Mrs. RS. Martin Hurt in Fall at Home

Mrs. Robert 8. Martin of North Jameson Street was seriously injured yesterday morning in a fall while entering a car. She has a history of a broken knee cap from two years ago and suffered extensive bruising though no bones were broken. Her physician is H. N. Coons.

Murat Chanters Stop in Lebanon for Brief Concert

The Murat Chanters, an Indianapolis Shriner musical group, halted in Lebanon for a short free concert on the south side of the square about 9 o clock. They traveled from Turkey Run with their wives and three autos carrying the singers. Local songs praised the mayor and city, and speakers invited Lebanon residents to attend Greater Indianapolis Week events and the Shriner celebration in Indianapolis.

Stevens to Teach English in Phoenix High School

Miss Zula Stevens accepts an English instructor post at Phoenix high school teaching junior and senior English. She departs late this month to work under K. W. Montgomery, newly named Phoenix school principal. Stevens previously taught at Lebanon high school and served as dean last year. She is a DePauw University graduate with a 1924 Indiana University master’s degree.

Bus and Interurban Car Crash Near Myers Hotel

A Midwest Traffic Co bus sustained torn fenders and a damaged pilot in a street collision near the Myers hotel on North Lebanon Street around 9 30 o clock last night. The bus veered wide to avoid machines parked along the curb and nearly hit the interurban track.

A northbound traction car struck a bus on route to Indianapolis but the bus continued to its destination without injuries. The collision caused no reported injuries and authorities documented the incident.

Homecoming for Virgil Eikenberry and wife after Europe trip

Mr and Mrs Virgil Eikenberry return from a two month tour of Europe visiting Mrs Eikenberrys parents Mr and Mrs De Burgin in Vincennes prior to a weeklong stay. Gregory Baby Buried Today at Old Union

Funeral services were held at 2 PM at Dover Christian Church for baby Keith Gregory eleven months old child of Mr and Mrs Ollie Gregory who died after a sixteen day illness at home near Dover. Rev Orbaugh of Darling ton conducted the service with burial in Old Union Cemetery.

The twenty first annual Red Men Picnic at Whitestown drew large crowds on Friday and Saturday.
