In Kokomo Indiana on Tuesday the murder of Fairy McClain is now thought to be premeditated, with Worley Osborn the prime suspect. Police seek Mckin meshed clues as Osborn fled to Kentucky to avoid capture and a $55 reward lingers for information.
Boone Circuit Court convened with numerous cases set for trial. Listings include conversions, unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor, damages, foreclosures, quiet title, replevin, and guardianship matters, with dates from April 11 to June 11. Osborn shot Fairy McClain after a history of threats and insistence, with the coroner reporting a brain injury from a bullet and the weapon used. Fairy, once betrothed to Osborn, had married a former lover, and the case now awaits trial while the victim is buried at First Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives include Elizabeth Ream Indianapolis James Raltis Jamestown Isaac Reshipson Brownsburg and Addison Reynerson Jamestown. Funeral arrangements forthcoming.
Executive committee of the Indiana Independent Telephone Association met at the Denison Hotel Indianapolis yesterday to reschedule the May annual meeting from May 10 to May 15 and to plan a banquet on the night of the 13th. About 90 independent telephone men from across the state are expected. Claypool Hotel assembly room was chosen for the meeting with the program to be drafted by President A. Lindemuth of Richmond and Secretary Charles Norton of Indianapolis.
Noblesville Ledger reports Prosecutor Gentry filed an affidavit in circuit court accusing Fred Dye of grand larceny. A warrant is with the sheriff as Dye, living south of Eagletown, allegedly took a lap robe from Glenn Stuitz's buggy. the robe was recovered, Dye fled the country, and he warned an acquaintance he would name others if arrested.
Lebanon High School outlines its season schedule with matches against Frankfort Noblesville Crawfordsville and each other from April to May while Baren Long leads the team. Crandall from the former Frankfort club is impressive for the New York Giants in a Columbus game where Matthewson struggled. Columbus AA champs sought Bunny Pearce but Reds refused to trade.

A morning blaze at 25 Pitt street in New York destroyed a five story tenement, injuring several and forcing twenty families to flee. Two Chesner children Wille four and Solomon three perished as their mother saved her eighteen month old daughter amid flames that burned her hair and feet.
Nearly one hundred members and guests attended a Knights and Ladies of Hanor social session. A brief program featured recitations songs and a reading by L B Hemmiticks. Mrs Cora Sands spoke briefly on the fraternal insurance plan and the group presented her with a rose bouquet.

The Darlington News mentions his 23rd mile milestone on April 12 as he stays active walking about in retirement near Darlington.
The text describes a long resident who lived to 114, settled in Putnam County, moved in 1866, built a house in 1868 that later burned, and parceled his farm into town lots along the Main Street area near the Vandalia railroad. He cleared timber for the school yard and later traveled extensively.

Cattle opened strong for most grades, but steer prices down about a dime. Demand for cows and heifers solid, bulls steady. Calf market firmer on top grades, some fancy sales at 7.0, others 6.50 to 6.75. Sheep and lambs steady with light receipts. fat sheep down 6 to 8, spring lambs steady near 7.0 to 8.25 depending on quality.
Sheridan's James Richards a DePauw student helped save two girls during a flood crossing near Greencastle. Four youths in a carriage were swept by rising water. Richards and his athletic efforts saved the others while two horses drowned. One injured girl left school. damage costs to the boys were $150 each.
A W. C. T. U. gathering at Mrs. Isalene Woodward's East Pearl home featured a devotional led by Mrs. Geo. B. McKee and a discussion on the Power of the Press. Mrs. Mary Hendricks led a parliamentary drill, with two guests in attendance, and the event highlighted the delegates’ educations and engagement.

Jamestown man James M. Roberts and Roscoe Bratton of Whitesville were badly injured when Ben Hur limited car No 202 mishandled an open switch near Jamestown Indiana. The car traveling about 55 miles an hour swung into the siding, the end of the rails jumped off ground, and two passengers suffered serious injuries while eight others were bruised. Motorman John Shilivan and Conductor Walter Leach operated the car.
Local letters urged citywide beautification of alleys lawns and sidewalks, criticizing neglect and urging property owners to keep walks clean.
