Monday morning he told his family his health was better than in years. En route to his son’s home he complained of a headache and suddenly clutched his right limb declaring something serious.

Fire ravaged the Richmond business district destroying stock and property. Chief Edward Miller and several firefighters suffered severe smoke and injury. Hospitalized, Miller is described in critical condition. Damage included multiple firms such as Model Grocery and Richmon d Loan Company with extensive stock losses and structure damage.
The Woman's Mission Circle of the First Baptist church held its regular monthly gathering with Mrs Geo McKee as host, served by Mrs Sam Storm Mrs A J Smith and Mrs George Rigsby. Mrs Fannie Adams read the principal paper on East African Mission. Mrs D B Whitaker contributed an article on mission work and Miss J W Whit entertained with a solo accompanied by Mrs H G Brown. New programs for the year were distributed and a new member Mrs Kate Stewart was welcomed.
