State WCTU Convened in Lebanon for Two Day Session
The State executive of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union met at Central Christian church in Lebanon starting at 2 50 pm with about sixty officers and local presidents. A diamond medal contest featured three young ladies and three gentlemen. the top contestant was a Spencer girl though names could not be learned. Tonight includes a debate moderated by Mrs Stan r and Mrs Artman with Miss Mary Woodard and Miss Sears among speakers.

Hedge Divorce Trial Ends With Custody Granted
The Hedge divorce case dominated the circuit court with the judge sustaining the demurer to adultery, judgment for the defendant on the complaint, and the plaintiff ordered to pay costs. The defendant won a divorce on her cross complaint and custody of the child was awarded to her. Deputy Sheriff John Casey prevented a physical clash between the parties near the courthouse.

Aged Man Dead in Thorntown Death Claims Robert Laverty
Robert Laverty age ninety three in Thorntown died Tuesday afternoon at 2 20 after an illness of three days. A Virginia native he moved to Thorntown at eighteen and ran the old toll gate before turning to grain business. He is survived by a wife and four children. The family resided in Thorntown.

Building Burns and Plants Lost at Taver's Green House
Paul O Taner's green house at the southern edge of town was almost totally destroyed by fire last night at 7 20 o clock. The blaze spread rapidly from a storage area and was worsened by a Big Four freight train blocking the way and muddy roads delaying the fire department. Loss may reach 2000 with insurance none. Much stock and spring plants were ruined or damaged beyond salvage. community sympathy runs high and debtors urged to settle accounts.

Barn Burned North of Town After Lightning Strike
ERNEST CRANE’s barn near Bethel church was struck by lightning just after midnight and burned with contents. He insured the barn for 175 dollars and the contents for more than enough to cover the loss, through Farmers' Cooperative Co. A second Moler farm barn, northwest of town between Stringtown and the Lafayette road, was struck by lightning and burned with its contents.

Traction Company Seeks Temporary Injunction Over Switch

In Indianapolis on a brisk two-load bid for extra choice butcher stock, hog prices jumped to a top of 6.40 while most grades held steady.
