Fire Rages Through Pearl Street Tenement Killing One
New York April 6 One woman died and many were injured when a four story tenement at 470 Pearl Street burned. Julia Isold twenty two lived on the fourth floor and jumped from a window as flames closed in. Fireman Michael Conway rescued his own mother and several siblings from the same blaze and carried them to safety as others were saved with ladders.
