Bank Bandit Robs Dallas Bank After 51 Mile Chase
A masked bandit fled with 65 000 to 70 000 from the National Bank of Commerce in downtown Dallas after a 51 mile pursuit from Harrisburg at 300 mph. Richard E. Bank of Long Island City was captured near Morgantown with a shotgun found on the seat. He sped away on a U turn through the turnpike gates, then abandoned the car and was taken into custody. About 30 bank employees witnessed the incident.
