Man Weirback Dies at Work at Light's Rolling Mills
Charles Weirback collapsed and died at 2:30 PM while working at Light's rolling mills where he had been employed for years. He resided at 42 North Fifth Street with his wife and child. He was a quiet, well regarded man who spoke little, and died without warning, still holding his tools.

Riot and shootings at Sternbergh plant strike in Reading
In Reading on Friday night a labor riot erupted at the Sternbergh plant of the American Iron and Steel Manufacturing Co as 25 strike breakers, all Black, clashed with locals on Fourth and Buttonwood streets. Two former officers, Harrison and Youse, were shot with Youse gravely wounded. others fired upon. Police arrested three Black men found in the plant yard and issued warrants for riot and assault.
