Susquehanna iron and steel Company at Columbia reports puddlers refused to return after six weeks of strike for wage increases. Management posted a Saturday notice granting puddlers 4.50 per ton, while other workers’ demands remain unsettled. York rolling mill also raises puddlers’ pay from 4.25 to 4.50 per ton immediately.
An eight year old son of Dr I G Jr of Campbelltown was kicked on Saturday evening by a horse and suffered serious head injuries. Dr B Wells of this city was summoned by telephone and performed a delicate operation removing a bone fragment as large as a silver dollar from the skull. The procedure was successful and the boy is reported to be recovering as well as can be expected.
Ellen Fisher reports a violent confrontation this morning with tenant Leah Bueder who allegedly assaulted and choked her. A warrant was issued. the accused is expected to appear in court later this week as the prosecutor details the alleged debt related aggression and the ongoing dispute over rent.
Kansas visitors return home after a several weeks stay with relatives on East Lehman and East Cumberland streets. Mr and Mrs Wolf Ada and Ross and Earl Wolf accompanied by Dr M B Gerberich family traveled home by P and BR railway via Allentown and Niagara Rails. friends saw them off at the local station.

Howell Walker of 27 South Eighth Street and Reuben Bleistine of North Tenth Street were painting the Freeman carriage house roof at Cornwall when a slanted ladder slipped. They fell about 25 feet, Walker badly bruised and unable to walk. Bleistine suffered internal injuries, sprains, and possible fractures. Dr Witmer of Bismarck treated them before they were brought to town by Freeman’s team.
Albright College at Myerstown hosts Alumni field day at 10 a.m. The board of trustees opens its annual meeting. The day features class day events with orations and music. Commencement week closes with a 9:30 a.m. program and noon banquet followed by an alumni meeting and fraternity banquet. The Kappa Upsilon Phi banquet is noted with several charter members present.
