Brazil Air Crash Kills 26 in Sao Luiz
A Southern Cross Caravelle airliner crashed and exploded during landing in Sao Luiz, Brazil, killing 19 passengers and seven crew members on a domestic flight from Baem at the Amazon mouth. The aircraft slid off the runway and burst into flames on approach, per airport staff. Sao Luiz lies on Brazil's northeast coast.

Warn motorists to limit speed on Route 422 East
North Lebanon Township police warned that within ten days the speed limit on Route 422 East will drop from 55 mph to 45 mph. The road will be heavily patrolled by North Lebanon and South Lebanon township police with radar in use. Flood Survivors Attend Banquet in Johnstown

County Launches Student Intern Program for MHMR
County commissioners launched the Student Intern Program within the mental health and mental retardation department. It will employ 25 college students majoring in social welfare oriented studies, with six hired Thursday at 1.76 dollars per hour.
