Third Invasion Forces Battle Saigon Guerrillas in Cholon Fight

Allied troops battled house to house against Viet Cong infiltrators in Saigon as the third invasion in five months unfolded. About 500 guerrillas have been killed since the groups entered the capital six days ago, with fighting centering in Cholon and two 10 block sectors. South Vietnamese troops freed two U.S. Marines captured near Hue, and U.S. jets and artillery knocked out two Soviet 180mm guns, signaling intensified action south of North Vietnam.

Brad Haines of Bountiful Utah swallowed a dime store turtle named Myrtle causing a three day hospital saga. Doctors tracked the reptile in his stomach and intestines but X rays by Friday showed the creature had moved and then disappeared from view. The incident left Brad on a liquid diet and his family facing about 400 dollars in medical costs.
